Uma Karuna Thurman (born April 29, 1970) is an Academy Award-nominated American actress, and former model.
She performs predominantly in leading roles in a variety of films, ranging from romantic comedies and dramas to science fiction and action thrillers. She is best known for her work under the direction of Quentin Tarantino. Her most popular films include Dangerous Liaisons (1988), Pulp Fiction (1994), Gattaca (1997) and Kill Bill (2003–04).
She is the face of Virgin Media in the United Kingdom and, along with Scarlett Johansson, has modeled handbags and other items for French brand Louis Vuitton. At 6 feet (1.83 m) tall, she is one of the tallest actresses in American movies.
Thurman's mother, Nena Birgitte Caroline von Schlebrügge was a fashion model born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1941, to German Friedrich Karl Johannes von Schlebrügge, and Birgit Holmquist, from Trelleborg, Sweden. In 1930, Birgit Holmquist, Thurman's grandmother, modeled for a nude statue that stands overlooking the harbor of Smygehuk. Thurman's father, Robert Alexander Farrar Thurman, was born in New York City to Elizabeth Dean Farrar, a stage actress, and Beverly Reid Thurman, Jr., an Associated Press editor and U.N. translator. Thurman's mother was introduced to LSD guru Timothy Leary by Salvador Dalí; and married Leary in 1964; then wed Thurman's father in 1967.
Thurman's father, Robert, a scholar and professor at Columbia University of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist studies, was the first westerner to be ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist monk. He gave his children a Buddhist upbringing: Uma is named after an Dbuma Chenpo.
Thurman grew up mostly in Amherst, Massachusetts and Woodstock, New York. She is described as having been an awkward and introverted girl who was teased for her tall frame, angular bone structure, unusual name (sometimes using the name “Uma Karen” instead of her birth name) and size 11 feet (Thurman's large feet would later be filmed by Quentin Tarantino in the films he made with her). When she was 10 years old, a friend's mother suggested a nose job.
As a child, she suffered bouts of body dysmorphic disorder, which she discussed in an interview with Talk magazine in 2001.
Thurman attended Northfield Mount Hermon, a college preparatory boarding school in Northfield, Massachusetts, where she was earned average grades, but excelled in acting. Talent scouts noticed her performance as Abigail in a production of The Crucible, and offered her the chance to act professionally. Thurman moved to New York City to pursue acting and to attend the Professional Children's School, but she dropped out before graduating.

Anna Kay Faris (born November 29, 1976) is an American actress.
Her film career includes the lead role of Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie films.
Faris was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Karen and Jack Faris. She has a brother, Bob, and grew up in Edmonds, Washington. After attending Edmonds Woodway High School, she studied English literature at the University of Washington.
Her first significant film role was in the independent production Lovers Lane (1999). Her breakout role was the horror film parody Scary Movie (2000). The 5'4" Faris, a natural blonde, dyed her hair black for the filming of Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2 so that her character more closely resembled Neve Campbell, who played the corresponding character in Scream, one of the films that Scary Movie parodied. Faris gained further popularity after becoming recurring character Erica in the final season of the popular American sitcom Friends. She also was in the critically acclaimed film Lost in Translation—in which she plays an actress promoting the fictional action movie Midnight Velocity. Faris was in the film Waiting... with Ryan Reynolds and Justin Long. In 2005, she appeared again with Reynolds in Just Friends, playing a supporting role as a pop-diva singer named Samantha James. Faris's role as the motor- mouthed LaShawn Malone in Brokeback Mountain (2005) brought her to the attention of a much wider audience. Faris starred with Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson in the feature film My Super Ex-Girlfriend, released on July 21, 2006. She is currently in production on the comedy Kids in America, playing Topher Grace's twin sister, in addition to her upcoming films Mama's Boy with Jon Heder, Jeff Daniels, and Diane Keaton, and Smiley Face with Adam Brody and John Cho. As of 2007, she was producing and starring in The House Bunny, a film with Happy Madison Productions about a retired Playboy bunny. In the summer 2007 season of HBO's Entourage, Faris guest-starred as herself. Faris also made an appearance in a video on eatdrinkordie.com as herself with internet wine guru Gary Vaynerchuk. Anna Faris won the "Stonette of the Year" award at High Times magazine's Stony Awards in Los Angeles on October 13, 2007 for her role in Smiley Face.
In 2004, Faris married actor Ben Indra, whom she met while working on Lovers Lane and whom she had dated since 1999. She filed for divorce on April 3, 2007, citing irreconcilable differences.

Bijou Lilly Phillips (born April 1, 1980) is an American actress, fashion model, and singer.
Some of her larger film roles include Bully, Havoc, Hostel: Part II, and Tart.
Phillips was born in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut, and is the daughter of John Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas and his then-wife Geneviève Waïte, a South African model, artist, and actress. The youngest of Phillips' children, she has one brother—Tamerlane—and three half-siblings—Mackenzie, Jeffrey, and Chynna. Her godfather was Andy Warhol. Phillips began modeling at the age of thirteen, appearing on the covers of Interview and Vogue Italia and in one of Calvin Klein's more controversial ad campaigns. Emancipated from her parents at fourteen, Phillips lived on her own in New York City. That same year, Phillips attended the Sierra Tucson rehab center in Arizona—not because she was actually addicted to drugs, she claims, but to get out of trouble for running up a large credit card bill in her father's name.

Christina Rene Hendricks (born May 3, 1975) is an American actress best known for her starring role as Joan Holloway in the AMC series Mad Men, and as Saffron in Fox's short lived series Firefly.
Hendricks was born in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee and raised in Twin Falls, Twin Falls County, Idaho from third through eighth grade. In 1989, her family moved to Fairfax, Virginia, where Hendricks appeared in several high school plays and local community theatre. She got her start acting in Junior Musical Playhouse productions, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Hendricks is a natural blonde; she has been dying her hair red since she was 10 years old.
As an actress, Hendricks has made her mark in a number of guest TV appearances. Her first television break came when she became a regular in the series Beggars & Choosers. Since then, she has starred in the series The Big Time and The Court, opposite Sally Field and Craig Bierko, as well as the law drama Kevin Hill. She has also had recurring roles in ER and Firefly. She guest-starred in episodes of Angel, Miss Match, Tru Calling, Presidio Med, Without a Trace, and Las Vegas. Hendricks also starred opposite Kip Pardue in South of Pico. However, her best-known role is that of Joan Holloway on the Emmy- and Golden Globe- winning AMC series Mad Men. The show centers on the macho, booze-soaked world of advertising in New York City in the early 1960s. Hendricks' character is the curvaceous office manager of Sterling Cooper, providing dubious mentoring to a group of women who must deal with the come-ons and callousness of professional advertising executives. Mad Men premiered on July 19, 2007 and wrapped its second season in October 2008.
She is engaged to fellow actor Geoffrey Arend; a wedding date has not been set.
